Bend Trip...

Wow! When you read how to download the pictures, it's actually very easy to do, so you can update your blog with your fun family adventure that happened two weeks ago!

Here we go, on our way to Bend. The drive there is SO pretty!

One of the evenings we were there, we sorta got lost, drove around for so long the kids fell asleep...deep asleep...it was SO quiet in the car...

One of the activities Brent wanted to make sure and do was to hike the mile long lava tube outside of town. We arrived too late to start on Friday, so the boys went back on Saturday, while us girls spent some time napping and reading at the condo.

Here's the entrance to the lava tube:

It's cold down there! These are ice formations on the bottom of the lava tube in one of the areas.

The tube slopes downward, getting skinnier as you go deeper. This is at the end of the tube - you can put your feet into in, and feel the end...

or, if you're brave, your torso and hand...
The boys came back happy and dirty from their adventure. They had a great time!

Then, we went to the high desert museum to play. They had an exhibit of old quilts (yeah!) a live animal exhibit - a western screech owl, and an exhibit on bats. We learned bats have awesome hearing...
and so does Brent when he's in "bat" mode.

They have a play area for the kids to burn off some energy...

and a slide that Lexi kept wanting to do over and over and over....

We spent some time with the Baller family (Yay!) We ate a yummy dinner, hung out and talked while the kids ran off some energy, saw some awesome chalk art, and then watched a hot air balloon lighting at dusk.

Here they are...it was SO nice to spend some time with them. We miss having them around!

One of the balloons for the lighting was an Energizer Bunny balloon - it was HUGE! They were giving away these cute bunny ears. Yes, they are Energizer Bunny ears, and not Playboy Bunny ears...let's not get mixed up, ok?

So pretty at night!

Awesome! I've been to those lava caves before for a middle school band trip, but there was no ice! That's really awesome.
