Ahhhh, beautiful, beautiful stormy ocean at the Oregon Coast. It was so awesome to be able to look out the window and see and hear the waves crashing against the rocks.
We ate a Mo's, where Brent had a raw oyster appetizer. Braden received a large plastic shark toy, which he promptly put in his mouth (ah, boys...)
We also visited Newport, and went through the Hatfield Science Center. It was very hands-on - they had touching pools where you could touch starfish, sea urchins, fish, sea anemones, and other marine creatures. We missed the feeding of the octopus, but got to see her in her holding pen.
I love to see sunbeams coming through the clouds - and was so happy to catch a nice picture with my camera!
Guess what! Santa comes to the coast, too! Braden was able to sit on his lap and ask for Transformers for Christmas. Alexia got her first time on Santa's lap, too! She didn't smile, but at least she wasn't crying and screaming in fear!
Braden asked me how to tighten his tie - I told him to pull on the short piece. Well, he pulled it tight, but I had to also show him how to do it outside his collar!
The children had a fun time with the luggage cart - Braden pushing, then jumping on, Alexia holding on for dear life and laughing when Braden pushed and pulled her around the room.
We stopped at the Devil's Churn on the way home. Brent and Braden actually walked down to see it close up. What an awesome sight! Silly me forgot a stroller, so Alexia and stayed in the nice warm van, played patty-cake, read books and sang songs together until the boys came back.
All in all, it was a great trip. We had a lovely time.
