Yum!

For the past few years, our ward has held a ward dinner, with desserts being auctioned off to earn money for Girl's Camp. The girls, moms, YW leaders and whoever else wants to contribute, make tempting looking desserts, and the ward members pay for the opportunity to get a dessert to round off dinner.

Look at what my husband bid on:


Yes, it's a lemon tart cake, with custard topping, and glazed strawberries on top. Looks pretty yummy, well, except I see the picture turned out blurry....

Here's a second picture, taken after I realized picture one was blurry...Yes, half of my slice of cake is gone, but um, our computer is running super slow right now...uh, yeah, that's it! It really did take a little bit of enjoy-that-cake-time to download that picture.

A little story about the tart-cake. April Smith wanted the cake, and was bidding on it, when another member of the ward, who shall remain nameless (Lance Johnson) kept bidding her up. Well, my sweet husband bid on it, too, and luckily there were two of the same cakes, so we both got one at the final price. We decided to be nice, even though it involved cake, and gave the other Smith's half of it to enjoy.

My slice was pretty yummy! Thanks, Rebecca, for making such a pretty baked good - you helped one girl get 28% of the way to camp with this dessert!!! Now about the cake plate you brought it on - you don't want it back, do you? (snicker)
